Vendor Reviews from May 9th
Mark with Bandstand Music - A+
Mark was great during the planning process and the vendor I was least concerned about because of the great reviews. He is as good as they claim! He was great about checking in with DH and I to see how things were going, kept things going at the perfect pace, and as usual, read the crowd well. A lot more people danced than I expected as our families aren't really dancing families. Also, Bandstand's website was very helpful to me throughout the planning process.

Wheatfields Catering & Cake - C
The only frustrating vendor was the catering. DH and I decided to go with Wheatfields because the food was good at the trial and the quote was lower than the rest we had received. The person we met with at first ended up not being in charge of our event which seemed to cause a lot of miscommunication problems within Wheatfields which wasn't too big of deal but a little annoying as we never really understood completely what was going on.
They did all of the decorating at Scoular and that turned out wonderful. I gave them guidelines of what I was wanting and it turned out way better than I expected.
The bad part was they ran out of food. The final count turned out to be higher than the attandance as we had some no shows and that even included 20+ kids who we paid for as adults. I can understand why the meat would run out as people probably took both kinds, but I fail to see how the potoatoes and green beans could run out when we had less people than expected. They are meeting this week to discuss what happened so I'll find out their response later. As of now, I'd stear clear of Wheatfields for catering.
The cake ran out as well so I never got to try it. The only feedback I heard was the red velvet was a little dry. The cakes looked beautiful though.
Marcia Tauriella & crew (hair & makeup) - A+
Marcia and her crew did the makeup for me and the hair and makeup for the bridal party. They were amazing! The girls were really friendly and actually helped calm my nerves a lot. Not only were they fun to have around while getting ready, but they did an great job. The girls all loved their hair and makeup.

Scoular Ballroom - Lisa - A
The ballroom is beautiful and got a lot of compliments. I really liked working with Lisa, too. She was great about answering all my questions and flexible with setting up times to meet with her. My mom said she really liked working with them when she picked up our decorations that Monday.

Hamilton Video - AI would give Chris a + but I haven't actually seen the video yet. He was really professional throught the whole planning process and from what I saw of him at the wedding. He said he was going to be mailing the video this week!
For those of you not sure if you want to do a videographer, I'd recommend it. The day went by so fast and I'm really excited to be able to see the video and hear the ceremony and toasts again.

Bill Norton Photography - A?
Bill has been good so far. We did our engagement pictures and I liked how they turned out. His style is a little more "posey" and less of a journalist style which I didn't really realize I wanted until after we booked him. He was great the day of the wedding with keeping us on pace and having ideas for different shots. I haven't gotten any pictures back yet (hence the ?) but I'm hopeful for lots of good shots.

Luxery Limo (trolley) - A+
Our driver Dave was awesome. He actually came by early in the day to drop off the trolley so I talked to him a bit and he was a very friendly guy. The company was great to work with as well and I appreciated them driving to Omaha. They had drinks and a disposable camara on the trolley which was nice. I'm excited to see the pictures as I think we got some good ones. It was so much fun being able to hang out with the wedding party between the ceremony and reception.

Anchor Paper (Paper for Invites, Menu Cards) - A+
I bought all of my paper through Anchor Paper (worked with Tom) and had a great experience. One of the best rates I could find and a quick turnaround. Tom was very helpful with selecting colors and weights for the invite paper.

Lisa (bulk flowers, bouts, and corsages) - A
I made all of my ceremony flowers and ordered my flowers through Lisa at the Hy Vee at 90th and Center. She made the bouts and corsages (I hate making them) and did a wonderful job. I'm pretty picky with my flowers and she did a really good job without too much input from me.Gentleman's Choice - A-
We got a great deal at a bridal show on the tuxes. DH said that they were worth the money and did a pretty good job. The only thing they messed up was one of the GM got his prom tux there and they used those measurements instead of the new ones but they corrected it right away and everything turned out fine.
